Where Did the Bulletin Board Go?

From Wall to Web and Back Again

There was a time when bulletin boards were on walls. In school hallways, grocery entrances, and community centers—you had to be there to read them.

Then came the early internet. The bulletin board became a web-page, a digital “Notice” tab. Where it was no longer mattered.

Only the URL remained, floating through cyber-space.

But now, as the Metaverse approaches, the board might return to the wall.

Wearing AR glasses, you might pass by a store and see a digital notice appear on the brick. At school gates and inside classrooms, bulletin boards might hang again—only virtually.

Or perhaps a glowing dragon might soar through the sky, scattering announcements as it flies.

A world where the virtual reconnects with the real.

Where bulletin boards, long confined to screens, begin to reclaim space and settle into places once more.

And in that shift, we may find ourselves looking at the world in a completely different way.
