[Notice] L panel Icon Update — The Digital Earth becomes the Interface

NIN.Earth Inteface: Digital Earth

The Digital Earth becomes the Interface

The Internet is moving beyond the rectangular monitor screen and expanding into space.

In this new era, where space itself becomes the interface, we stands at the center, creating a new form of the Internet (Web).

Just as Google simplified access to the web with a single search box, and conversational AI (LLM) made interaction more natural by reducing input, NIN.Earth continues this evolution — preparing for a new kind of Internet with spatial experience, and presenting the Digital Earth as a new standard for the interface.

Future devices such as smart glasses will need a new structure where the Internet and physical space come together.

NIN.Earth introduces a new web environment that puts the Digital Earth at its center.

The Earth itself becomes the main screen. Users can create freely on the tiles they own, connect web services, and experience a new Internet where the real world and the virtual world meet.

To make this experience more immersive, we removed all unnecessary complexity from the interface.

At the center of the screen remains only the Digital Earth, and every function or setting appears only when the user needs it.

This design led to the creation of the L panel (Left panel) & R panel (Right panel).

The L panel provides various tools for exploring the Digital Earth, while the R panel allows users to access our services.

These 2 panels represent the simplest form of our philosophy; a spatial, human-centered Internet.

And at the heart of it all, there is always the Earth.

[Notice] L panel Icon Update

2025-11-03. We’ve updated the L panel (Left panel), the essential tool for exploring the Digital Earth.

In this update, the L panel has been redesigned with 11 tools grouped into 3 main categories(Location, Explore, and Auxiliary Tools) and each tool is now represented by a clear and intuitive icon.

1. Location Tools (3)

  • Tile Locator
Allows users to move directly to a specific location on Digital Earth, using Tile data (latitude/longitude, Tile ID) or Domain Space data (Domain Space ID, Domain Name). Represented by a Pin icon.

  • Location Finder
Lets users move to any location on the Digital Earth by entering keywords, addresses, or place names. Represented by a Magnifier icon.

  • Move to current Location
Instantly moves the view to the user’s current GNSS/GPS coordinates on the Digital Earth. Represented by a red concentric circle symbol, indicating the user’s current location.

2. Explore Tools (5)

  • Zoom In
Represented by a “+” icon.

  • Zoom Out
Represented by a “–” icon.
  • to Grid
Zooms into the grid level where individual hexagonal tiles become visible. Represented by a Hexagon Tile icon.

  • to Globe
Switches the perspective to view the entire Earth, as if seen from space. Represented by a Globe icon.

  • to North
Reorients the map to face north, restoring the user’s sense of direction. Represented by a Compass icon.

3. Auxiliary Tools (3)

  • Grid Color (Yellow / Navy)
Switches the grid line color between Yellow (bright) and Navy (dark) to maintain visibility across different terrain backgrounds.

  • Position Information (On / Off)

Displays the tile’s latitude/longitude and Tile ID at the top-left of the screen.

On PC, the information updates in real time based on where the mouse pointer hovers. On mobile devices, it shows the information of the point you touch on the screen.

This feature can be toggled on or off and is active when the map is zoomed to the grid level.

  • Help (Tool Guide)
Provides a brief overview of the L panel & R panel functions and usage tips. Opens as a pop-up window with details about Nin.Earth’s optimal environment and available features.
